May 16 2006- Ok, so its been close to a year. I've been BUSY... life = crazy.. sorry for all of you who have been continuing to check for updates, emailing me, waiting for the audi/video section to come back... I've been slacking. But i will NEVER quit or leave :) With that said, all I can say is I have not forgotten the fans or The Distillers. I've continued to download images that I find, videos, interviews, and more.. I just havent updated anything. I'm trinyg to graduate from college.. ya know? start the real life, all that good stuff. I'm studying abroad in Turkey for 3 weeks this June, then when I get back, figure out my living situation.. I promise I'll jump right into this site. As for the Distillers... Brody and Joshua Homme had a baby girl, Camille, on Jan. 17 and weighed in at a robust 6 lbs., 15 oz. "Camille's interests include boobs, sleeping, and pooping," Homme's spokesperson told NME.com. "Camille's dislikes include smoking, men who are afraid to cry, and dirty diapers." No word yet on whether the baby was born with tattoos, or if she is slated to get some as a first birthday present. (tkane from Spin.com) They are also officially engaged. Some little hidden links to the official website have been discovered, but nothing has been finished or posted.. so NO REAL NEWS YET... other than that, keep emailing me if you want.. but I will get this site up and going again eventually... August 30- Ok, thanks for the dozens of emails regarding the Distillers breaking up... Im sorry I havent replied to most of them, but its simply because I told you that the only source of information I had was the forum at deathhouse.org, and I know none of you bothered to go there to read about whats going on before emailing me. Before diving right into the distillers update, just know that I updated every single section of my galleries, especially the sections of Brody Misc, Brody Live, and Whole Band. They're in the pictures section, under media. Rumours are still flying around regarding brody and The Distillers and nothing seems to be entirely official. This is what is known: 1) Yes, Brody is pregnant, with Josh Homme's (QOTSA) baby. 2) TheDistillers.com has changed momentarily and is looking promising for future updates 3) The old Distillers line-up will not remain. 4) Ryan is said to be done with The Distillers for sure, posting up a myspace account for his new group "The Dead Life" at http://www.myspace.com/thedeadlife. As far as rumours go: Brody's management has said the Distillers will continue with a different lineup, to include Tony... a fan said Brody told her the Distillers are finished, "the end of an era", and that she does plan on continuing to make music once the baby is born, which is rumoured to be a boy, who they want to name "Cash" after Johnny Cash. I'm sure there's more rumours but I don't feel like typing them all out.. moral of the story: just wait!.. wait to see what unfolds, most likely from thedistillers.com. July 19- Yes, the news is true, I'm sorry to say that The Distillers Have Broken Up. Ryan Sinn has confirmed this numerous times in numerous ways (emails, deathhouse.org posts, AIM, myspace, etc.) There is no official news as to why, except that Brody broke it off for what seems to be 'personal resons'... pregnancy and/or marriage rumours have not been officially stated yet... as said before.. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in this news go to the message board at deathhouse.org for more information if you have not done so already.. sorry for the news :( July 5- If anyone saw my last news update about the Distillers breaking up, I have removed it due to me deciding I was overreacting and that I should not post any news that isn't deemed OFFICIAL... although there's no way to know what is exactly official since the website and board are never updated/nonexistent.. the posts made at deathhouse.org that seem to be from Ryan and Brody may not be actually from them.. June 19- Brody on the Fantastic Four soundtrack!- www.netmusiccountdown.com- The soundtrack also includes songs from Lloyd Banks, Alter Bridge and one-off group T.F.F., which consists of Jet's Chris Cester, the Distillers' Brody Dalle, Dolf de Datsun of the Datsuns, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner.  everyone keeps emailing me and asking about what's the recent news on the Distillers/a tour/an album... below this paragraph, i posted the latest message from Brody officially, (taken from the official message board in March) Things seem to be going slowly on the website, planned projects, and updates, but the message board seems to be under contruction as of today, so hopefully we will be seeing major changes soon! A friend of mine (hi Sam!) recently talked to Brody for awhile outside of a QOTSA show and said Brody was in high spirits and excited about new Distillers updates, but seemed to be enjoying a much needed rest after all the constant touring the past 4 years! She implied major new things would be coming around the beginning of 2006, but if you only trust official words from the band, this is the best you're going to get. whats up everybody ?! how are we? excited for the new distillers record?!!!!!!!! should be coming out sometime this ear. but you nose ........there are other surprises in store for yall. Miss Baddassss Riot and i are cooking up a new and fucking awesome-ly indepth distillers website , with as as many photos we can , video footage and shit you aint ever seen before! like monkeys in the jungle wearing pantaloons. we have currently about 11,000 photos to sift through thanks to the wizardry of our documentarian Eddy Vegas , also a movie in the works and also a book. June 14- Ok, so I added 5 new flyers in the MEDIA/FLYERS seciotn... and since I couldnt find one of the flyers' dates in my tour archive, my search led me to discover a complete set of old tourdates with tiger army and nekromantix from march 2002, so those dates are now added to the TOUR archive... do you see dates that are missing?? let me know! June 12- I added all new pictures of the Coral Fang limited edition vinyl artwork, taken by me... in the MUSIC section. Also added some more information about Ryan's Bass and Andy's Drums in the BAND section. I also added two new random facts at the bottom in the DIDYOUKNOW section. June 11- finally.. a little more updates with major plans for more.... anyways, I added the SSDH/old English font to the MEDIA/OTHER section... also I added lyrics to the Distillers' covering the 13th Floor Elevators song "You're gonna Miss Me", the Misfits song "horror business", the Ramones' "Spiderman" song that was on the Spiderman 2 video game, and also "Call Me" by Blondie with No Doubt and garbage... plus the lyrics to "Muppet N.A.M.B.L.A." with leftover Crack... all in THE MUSIC section March 21- Added the Conan O'Brien TV appearance from awhile ago in the MEDIA/AUDIO/VIDEO section... He is now a permanent member of Darker My Love on Tarantulas Records Here is his message from the official message board- feb 2, 2005 hi everyone, its me andy. i just wanted to write in to say that i have officially quit the distillers. i am now in darker my love full time. i will miss everyone very much, i really appreciated all the support from everyone over the years. this has been very hard for me, and i am going to miss brody and tony and ryan very much. none of this comes from any ill will. the 4 of us are still close friends, i am stepping down so that i can return to my friend tim presley, to continue playing with him. i started darker my love with tim during the nerve agents as an outlet for us to play exactly what we wanted to, with out comprimise. so i feel now it is my time to go back to that. again, thank you all for your support, i will miss the distillers, but i need to move on. i love you all. andy 2005 |
